A lot of people were unsatisfied with some of the changes Microsoft has applied to their latest version of the Windows OS. You may have already noticed how some things have been moved around here and there which could confuse you at first.
One of the things that every Windows user prefers is to have a "My Computer" shortcut on their desktop and applying this on Windows 8 is a bit different than how we used to do it on Windows 7 where all we had to do was open up the Start menu, right-click on Computer and choose "Show on desktop".
Adding Computer shortcut on Windows 8 Desktop
Step 1: Start off by right-clicking on your Desktop and then choosing "Personalize":Step 2: Now head into where it says "Change desktop icons":
Step 3: Tick the box next to where it says "Computer", now click on Apply and close the window:
Results: You should now see your Computer shortcut on your Windows 8 desktop:
