How to sort folder size and easily clean your Hard Drive

Cleaning your hard drive from no longer needed files can be a hassle, especially if you have no idea which folders take up most of your hard drive space. It's not easy at all to manually open each drive and then right-click on each folder to view its properties.

For this kind of thing, there is a variety of software available on the net that can help you determine which folder takes up the most space on a hard drive. Some you may find that cost money and are split to a Pro and Free/Trial version.

In this post I am going to introduce you to a software called WinDirStat. Unlike the other similar software, this one is being offered completely for free and gets the job done within three clicks.

You can set it to scan individual drives, all of your local drives or even just a folder and it will sort all of the directories starting from the one that takes up the most space to the one that takes the less.

Personally this program has come of great use to me as I'm one of those people who tends to create a mess then later on realizes that he is running out of space. This software is definitely a godsend if you like hoarding files a lot.

You can download WinDirStat from its official website.
